Work From Home Using A Motor Home To Provide Office Space
An early difficulty you have to sort out when you decide to work from home is making space for your work from home duties. If all you will be involved in is or other computer based jobs then you may not require a lot of accommodation but even so you can’t operate without some room. If home studies, spare rooms, roof space conversions, cellars and extensions are all ruled out then you could need to consider outside the home. If you do then by far the simplest solution could be to press into service a caravan or motor home as your nerve centre.
You could think such an option is available only if you have a caravan or motor home already. But just think, if you have to create additional room in your home you would need to invest a significant sum on constructing an extension or converting an existing space such as a loft or basement. And a second hand caravan or motor home can be purchased quite inexpensively, so buying one only for your work from home use might in practice be very cost effective. Another benefit of course is that you now have a facility which can be used for alternative purposes, such as vacations!
Before making such a purchase however you should think about a couple of matters. Be sure you will be able to store a caravan at your home continuously. Many homes are affected by covenants which forbid this so you need to check your deeds. Also, make sure you can connect mains electricity to the caravan or motor home, you will require this to operate computers and perhaps for warmth. Finally, install wireless internet and a cordless telephone facility and make sure they work where you intend to park the caravan or motor home. That way it will be possible to work from home easily and it will not be necessary to run a number of wire cables through from your house.
